However, deforestation, habitat loss, and unsustainable land-use practices threaten the integrity of our forests at an alarming rate. By conserving and restoring these ecosystems, we can mitigate climate change, protect biodiversity, and secure a sustainable future for all.
How can you contribute to our goals?
By adopting a square meter of forest you become a vital partner in our efforts to conserve and restore the forests of Suriname. Your contribution directly funds initiatives such as:
· Reforestation Projects: Planting trees in degraded areas to restore habitat and sequester carbon.
· Biodiversity research activities: including but not limited to the initiation of a research facility, monitoring of wildlife species, documenting local species and their specific torpical habitats
· Research and Advocacy: Supporting scientific research and advocating for policies that promote forest conservation and sustainable land management practices.
· Community Engagement: Empowering local communities to become stewards of their forests through education, training, and sustainable livelihood initiatives.
· Develop Conservation Strategies: Use scientific evidence to develop and implement conservation strategies that protect biodiversity and promote sustainable land and resource management.
· Selection, testing and Implementation of Green sustainable technologies.
